Unhappy I think I have hydrolock

Well, I think I have killed my engine. I was driving in severe rain when my car stalled out and wouldn't restart. I have the filter located in the fender well, and when I replaced the transmission a few weeks ago I didn't replace the wheel well cover. I know I'm a Jacka$$. I just removed the intake from the throttle bodies and about a gallon of water dumped out. When I tried to break the engine loose with a breaker bar on the crankshaft it wouldn't budge. The starter will engage but wont turn. It just gets really hot. Any ideas? If it is hydro locked what does it mean? Time to abandon the SVX?

try pulling all the spark plugs and rotating the engine.

OK, I pulled all of the plugs out. I still cannot budge the crankshaft. I did, however, have a lot of water drain out when I removed the driver side plug closest to the front. I also noticed the oil has a milky consistency and a cappuccino froth like residue on the filler cap.

Holy cow. If water drained out of your engine when you pulled out a spark plug, that definitely sounds like it was hydro-locked...

Sorry to say, your engine is toast. Milky oil means that water got in it. You got water in the cylinders and something broke and allowed water to mix with the oil.

Damn. This is no good. I doubt it would be cost effective for me to swap the engine. I have put so much time into this car in the past year, and almost had it where I wanted. I hate that it is dead because I decided to put that stupid air filter in the fender with out the splash guard on. Hummm.... what to do with my immobile car?

Dang, that sucks dude. Especially with all the work you have done on your car recently.
An engine swap ain't too bad though. You can get a used one for around $500-600 if you look hard enough. With all you have done to your svx, it wouldn't be worth it to stop now! I bet there are some members with engines laying around - post up in the wanted section and see what turns up.
