Check engine light

Maybe someone can help me on this one. My check engine light came one yesterday. So, I looked under the hood and could only find that my oil was low. So I changed it. Now the light will not turn off. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Adam

There is a self check feature on the svx. If you hit the search button there should be info on how to check it yourself. It works by blinking of the check engine light, when correctly done, I know that there are 2 blue wires that you put in a certain socket point on the obd connector to get codes of like the tranny or the engine etc.Hope this helps

Check the how to section to the directions for looking for codes.

Thanks for the info guys. I tried using the code but the light did not blink. I also tried to reset the code.
Now, I have to ask. Will the light come on if it is getting ready to burn out?
Also, I installed the stage 1 shhift kit. Could that be causing the problem?

Cheers,
Adam

Make sure you're using the right connector to check your codes.

I recently had a check engine light. Diagnostic revealed a knock sensor out.

So where is the self dianostic code proceedure? It won't show up on mine with the proceedure I have and I can't find it anywhere on here.
