Giugiaro Designed Car For Sale

One of the most beautiful of the Giugiaro designs, for sale on eBay. This would be the perfect Christmas present to park next to your SVX:

Some of this stuff has been posted before, but some of you may not have seen these:

A couple of Giugiaro's recent designs at the Pebble Beach show.

I saw the Corvette at the Geneva show last year. There are no opening windows, so it must make a great sauna on sunny days.
There was also a mockup, for some reason.

Who Designed What?

Giugiaro designed several Maseratis, including the Bora, but the Khamsin was designed by Macello Gandini, who also designed the Lamborgihini Miura and Countach.

My favorite Giugiaro design is the Iso A3C, which became the Bizzarrini Strada 5300 in street trim. It is not widely known, but Bizzarrini's basic aerodynamic shape for the Iso A3C was refined and styled by Giugiaro. Bizzarini said this was the car the famous Ferrari 250 GTO should have been. He left Ferrari before he had a chance to finish refining the GTO design.

http://www.tybrainstorm.de/drogo/iso.html

A bit of trivia - the race car #3 shown here was driven by Giotto Bizzarrini from his shop in Italy to Lemans. His drivers raced it for 24 hours, and then he drove it home! He placed pretty well for a private entry operating on a shoestring budget. It is interesting to think how he might have done if he had Chevy
money behind him to compete with the Ford GT40s that won at Lemans. When he first started working with the Corvette V8 in the Iso, he said it was far superior to anything made at that time by Ferrari or Maserati.

After all these years, collectors are only just beginning to realize that cars with the names Giugiaro and Bizzarrini attached to them are very important historically - two true geniuses of art and engineering in automobiles. You can still buy an Iso for a small fraction of the cost of an old Ferrari, and your local Chevy mechanic can tune it. Indeed, a Grifo would probably cost no more to drive than your SVX!

The attached photo is the Grifo L, same basic chassis as the A3C, but body by Bertone, designed by Giugiaro, and made strictly for the street.

I am a pessimistic optimistic. I think the worst is going to happen, that way when it does, i don't feel as bad, but if the best happens, i am twice as happy.
