My bumper is now the victim

I walked to my car getting ready to leave the campus. I noticed there was something black on my bumper and as I got closer I noticed what happened. Someone had backed out of their space and came too close to my car, scraping up the bumper .

There was no one around parked near me or a note on my car, so I just drove home and didn't bother calling campus security or anything.

Hi Tim, Well to say the least, that sucks. Like I always say, if we didn't have people we would be OK . I had my SVX refinished in 2003. About two weeks later some scumbag did a similar thing to it at a shopping center lot. Take care. BOBB

i would seriously kick some arse.. my campus has video camera around the parking lot....if i found out who did that to my car, they would have a serious problem

Hey Tim, that's horrible man, but at least it's only the bumper and not a body panel. Now you have an excuse to mount some sort of lip to the bumper before repainting it!

Out of curiosity: what would you have done if on your way to the parking lot you would have seen that a**hole hitting your car and slowly leaving? I hope that will never happen to me, because that means I'd wind up in jail and he in the hospital.

Yesterday was actually a day I carried my digital camera on me. I would have definitely stood in front of the car so the person wouldn't be able to go unless they drove through me.

I would have immediately called the police if the person tried to get away and memorize the plate. All I care about is getting reimbursed for the damage.

I mean honestly, if I wreck the the car by being careless it's one thing. I wouldn't be mad because it was my fault and I should have known better.

But I hate it when I try to keep the car all nice looking only to get the door dinged by other people being careless or getting backed into because the person is too lazy to go forward a little and back up again or open their door more slowly.
