driver door actuator

WHERE THE HECK IS IT!?!?!? opening my drivers door actuates NOTHING, alarm, seatbelt, lights....so it must be the actuator. but I can't find it(maybe thats the problem? ). But my passenger side works fine and I can't find that one EITHER... Maybe I am blind, but traditionally I have known actuators to be those little pop/push in buttons on the side of the car when you open the door. if it actually IS still one of these things, kinda would someone explain to this poor fool where on the car it is?

J

Also, how universal are those actuator switchs?

I believe it is a part of the physical lock mechanism. You can have the door open and push in on the latch until you get two clicks from the mechanism and the electrical system thinks the door is shut. This by itself makes it non-universal since many use a separate push to activate type switch.

It is part of the physical lock. if it's not working you may have to take off the door panel and check all the connections behind there.
