CART--American Memorial

It's great that they renamed the race to the Americal Memorial.

The wreck with the Alex's (Zanardi & Tagliani) was horrid when I watched it on the news. How tragic, to have a race named as a memorial to a tragedy, spring a tragedy of its own.

Zanardi's accident is a great loss for the CART community. I knew it was bad when they didn't show a replay of the accident. The last time they didn't replay a crash was Greg Moore's fatal accident a couple of years ago in Fontana.

Too bad there isn't any support for CART racing in the US. The Toronto Star had the Zanardi accident taking up most of the front page of the sports section.

Personally I don't care to much for cart, I'd rather watch IRL. They made big steps when they joined together @ the "Greatest Spectacle in Racing".

CART made a mistake, in my opinion, when they didn't run @ texas. IRL was there going only a few MPH slower experiencing the same G-forces the CART drivers were, and they stuck through it.
