Need part number EG33 cylinder head piece
Hello all,
Currently rebuilding my EG33 and one of the hydraulic lifter LINERS was damaged so the machine shop removed it. They couldn't get it through their suppliers so I am going to attempt to order one from the dealership. Hopefully it is something sold separately and not just with a complete head. If anyone knows the part number that would be most helpful. Yes I have contacted the dealership, still waiting to hear back. Opposed Forces parts catalog didn't show it either. Need this liner: Missing here: For reference: cheers -Evan Last edited by neverLift; 04-21-2013 at 08:38 AM. |

Re: Need part number EG33 cylinder head piece
Evan, I'm looking at the parts diagrams now, and I can't seem to find this. I think it may be part of the head.
I'll take a closer look on my lunch break and hopefully have some more solid information for you. -Jim (Subaru dealer Parts Guy)

Re: Need part number EG33 cylinder head piece
The engine parts catalog doesn't show any such part.

Re: Need part number EG33 cylinder head piece
Thanks for the help guys, as I expected it is a part of the head. I should be able to machine something up that will work.

Re: Need part number EG33 cylinder head piece
Someone here has to have a bad head you can harvest from, try the parts wanted section.

Re: Need part number EG33 cylinder head piece
Or you could ditch the hydraulic valve lash adjusters and stock valves and get some aftermarket valves and springs like RallyBob did.

Re: Need part number EG33 cylinder head piece
He'd still need the HVLA liner.

Re: Need part number EG33 cylinder head piece
Although that is the plan for a future set of heads I would like to build, just want to keep the engine stock for now. And as stated above its the liner not the HVLA itself.
Thanks guys for the input, I've got a WTB posted if anyone knows of some heads that could be sacrificed. Worst case I just take some measurements and make a CAD model to get one machined. cheers -Evan |

Re: Need part number EG33 cylinder head piece
I'd say that's your best bet. It's not too hard to lathe something as simple as that. Just bust out some calipers and start lathing some steel.
