Cleaning MAF with special maf cleaner doesnt help.. Symptoms are the same..
Any suggestions what to do next? Maybe idle control valve?

Re: idle trouble after deep puddle pass

Clean the throttle body and the IACV and see if that helps

Re: idle trouble after deep puddle pass

I still have an annoying erratic idle, and Im waiting to go back to OT's and he is going to swap out throttle bodies. Can someone tell me why after driving home 35 miles I pull into my driveway put car in Park and its idling 1600 rpms, I immediately shut it off wait ten seconds, restart, and its now idling perfect at 800 rpms. This has been going on for the past month since I got my car back. Also the idle at times goes up on its own from normal to say 1100 rpms. Is this more of an electronic issue. Another thing, when reversing, initially without giving it any throttle car is moving backwards normally, then suddenly you can feel like someone remotely moved my accelerator and the car starts to move quicker while reversing. Just the weirdest of things thats driving me crazy.

Well Gleb you have covered all the things that could cause it, but air is still getting around the throttle plates.
The air is either getting through the Idle Air Control valve, due to the ECU not controlling it, or it is getting through the Axillary Air valve. Try removing the air hose that runs from the Left Hand Side of the air box attached to the throttle bodies, down to the Axillary Air valve under the LHS of the manifold. Block the hose, see if it slows the Idle.

Harvey.

Re: idle trouble after deep puddle pass

The AAV could be stuck or slowed down due to oil contamination, the bi-mettalic strip that controls the shutter could be running cooler than normal - or the supply voltage is not correct?.

Taking out the AAV and cleaning it with Kero (which leaves a thin oil film in place afterwards - thereby helping with sliding parts not binding) - I did this and it fixed my idle issue.

Re: idle trouble after deep puddle pass

Surteess, what is the AAV, the Auxillary Air Valve, or Auxiallary idle control under the intake. Its a black plastic box type correct. Must I remove the intake to get it off.

Re: idle trouble after deep puddle pass

Dan that sounds like what you might have wrong.. Being yours just changes by itself. Sounds like something is sticking..

Re: idle trouble after deep puddle pass

Well, to review:

1. I cleaned IACV with carb cleaner - green tab is not stick, moved easily with screwdriver or pinky finger. 9 ohms between 1-2 and 2-3 terminals ok.

2. I checked AACV effects on idle - i blocked inlet pipe on throttle body and hose to it at the same time - nothing happened.

3. I replaced MAF with good one - nothing happened

4. I replaced ECU - nothing happened

5. I replaced throttle cable with new one - still nothing..

I really dont know what to do next, please help((
Idle on 1,2,3,D is 1000rpm, idle on D, N is 1500rpm

Re: idle trouble after deep puddle pass

Did you replace the throttle body gasket. At this point I would swap in another throttle body that you know idles properly. I have basically the same issues, except my idle goes thru cycles, normal one minute high the next. If I didn't have so much money into it, Id roll it off a cliff at this point, so annoyed.

Re: idle trouble after deep puddle pass

Maybe the CTS? It can cause surging, high idle, and frequently doesn't show a code when it's not working. Maybe water got in the connection. It's the 2-wire one, accessible from the rear, left-hand side of the engine, on the coolant crossover pipe. Try looking at it and measuring the resistance at different temperatures (a hot and cold one should suffice). The resistance at different temperatures is in the graph in this document: http://www.bosch-motorsport.de/pdf/s...re/NTC_M12.pdf (This is not the exact same sensor, but the temp/resistance curve is the same).

Try also cleaning/lubricating the throttle body linkages on the right-hand side, where the cable attaches, maybe something is sticking.
