coolant temp sensor

Hey guys, I was trying to fix a rough idle on startup and this seems like the logical first step. Only problem is, I can't find the sensor. Someone tried explaining it to me but I still have no luck. Does anyone have a pic they could show to help out?

Also what is the part#

Thanks in advance

Re: coolant temp sensor

Take off the plastic engine cover, look down. It is on the drivers side rear of engine right on top, there will be 2 sensors, the one you want has the 2 wires coming out.

The is thread has a picture of the part and the part number. It is a 5 minute job to replace.

Re: coolant temp sensor

Make sure your engine is cool please, before you take it out

Re: coolant temp sensor

Can't help you with the Subaru part number, but you can buy one at any auto parts retailer.
