In four and one-half years of SVX ownership I've crested the 30 MPG mark twice. A couple of weekends ago I made a 225+ mile highway run in the silver SVX, starting with a warm drivetrain and topping-off the tank at each end of the trip, and recorded 27.9. (This included a 15-20 minute slowdown in a torrential rainstorm.) For this car, that's outstanding mileage.

I get about 4-6 months out of a tank of gas in my SVX. Daily driver looks to be netting me about 80mpg right now. Really sucks with gas prices climbing to what 105th highest out of 145 countries.

Nope, I moved back to my parents house for now, while transferring schools. This is actual non stop driving at 65mph 30 miles each way. I average at 20mpg, and in town, im going to guess I get about 8....

the other day went 383 miles on 15.173 gallons of gas. That is 25.24 miles per gallon average and considering i was driving 75 to 85 with some 90s mph in there the whole way i think i got pretty good millage. I figure if i drove 65-70 i would be have gotten some where around 28 or so a gallon.

I have hit the 30+ mark a few time on the way to Yosemite driving an average of 65-75mph.

when i first got my SVX i usually got 27mpg on highway and town...and my record was 31mpg

now, due to injector codes, egr code, and killer oil leak, i average 21 mpg mixed driving....hot roding a lil bit and shiftin the automatic manually

any ideas on the injector codes tho? i dont want to buy new ones!! $$$

Try one of those "injector cleaning" additives to your fuel yet? Only thing I can think of, short of pulling em and having em rebuilt.

How do you people do it... I just crested 17 MPG with new spark plugs.... all city no highway. I guess highway could do me better. Would replacing my Axle do me any good with that too as I think its on its way out?

Would resetting the computer once every 6 or so months have any benefit you think? (leaving the battery disconnected for 30 mins or whatever)?

Always, but always ck your air filter. I happend to check mine and discovered it almost plugged. Changing the filter got me 21mpg right away. Also, don't forget tire pressure ck.

Never used em, just have heard good things. Go with a brand name I'd say - Valvoline, or Quaker state make one perhaps? Mobil?

44K is the best on the market, usually a two part system but you can buy the one can by itself usually. May only find in select parts stores or most dealerships.
