What would you sell your car for?

What would you sell your car for? I just had a guy ask me that, and granted I have more into my car then most (repai bills AND performance) but I replied on the high side, 1 so I can get back the money I put into my car... and 2 because I love my car.

So that raised a good question, what would you sell yours for?

That is an easy question for me!

Nothing - because I have never sold one, so I don't know.

I have started a graph with prices that people have sold their cars for or purchased them for. It is amazing, but there is a nice curve to the graph and I can just about figure out any car and what the average price would be. I would then set the price on the high side. I am going to post this graph when I get it set up a little better.

Much more than someone will want to offer me....at least for the Claret and the Tomato car.

As for the other two...for the right price I would let them go.

for my ebony, id list it for 4250. only if I had some super kickass replacent already in my possesion would I let it go for less

my 96..Itd be so pointless to sell. It has a rebuild title, making the book value roughly what its worth in scrap metal....and it has much recnent work dont, to ensure it stays driving for another 15 years or two accidents...whichever happens first

I'd sell mine for 4000. 500 more than I paid for it. But because no one would buy my car for even what I paid for it, I don't bother selling it. Instead I dump paychecks into her.

Guy at work asked me this the other day. I said 10k. He thought I wasn't being serious. If someone actually did pay me 10k for it, I think I'd have sellers remorse. We've bonded.

Honestly? I'm not sure. It's an interesting question because I've actually been thinking about it. Realistically, $5000 maybe.

I do love the SVX, and someday I'm really going to miss it, but I'm starting to come to the realization that it's not going to be with me forever.

The thing is, I started buying other daily drivers to store the SVX, which was my 'nice' car. It's been my pet for years now, and I've put maybe 1500 miles on it in the past three years. Now I have a daily driver that is nicer than the 'nice' car.

Maybe I just need to drive it, I don't know. It's been sitting quietly in the garage all winter, and I used to get it out the first day the salt was washed off the roads. We've had no salt for weeks and tons of rain, and yet I haven't even opened the garage. Maybe that's because I have the RX-8 now, and maybe it's because I have a new water pump waiting on the workbench to go on the SVX, which it really needs before it goes anywhere.

I'm not saying I'm going to sell it, just that I'm accepting the possibility that it might not be with me forever as I had hoped.

I sold my MR2 last week. That was a sad day, and it was just my daily driver.

I was in a parking lot yesterday when a jeep roared in next to me and asked me if I was selling mine, I said no, he then replys with, ok, if you where how much would I have to pay? Without missing a beat I say 22k, and he goes, why that much, I list the stuff I have into my car, and he asks for my pjone number...

I know that this is BS (although he knew what it was right off, and said he had a STI that someone had just toataled and he has always like the SVX) He got 29k for the STI, and was looking around...

O am not in the market to sell, but for a price like that, I would get all my money back and be able to get a newer car... Like the '98 Supra I found...

I'd let mine go for 7,000-8000.

I'm looking to get a used G35 coupe after graduation and have to choose between keep either the Corolla or the SVX. Maybe I can keep all 3

The silver =
$7000 motor
$7500 Stage 3
$5500 6 spd swap
$1500 wheels
$1700 exhaust and headers
$1500 coilovers
$1800 brakes, accessories and miscellaneous
$2000 value of actual car

$28,500 and while this does not count the parts as the actual prices I paid, it is the relacement price for what it would take to get another SVX and build it to where mine is now. This also does NOT take into consideration my time into the project either. I would say someone would have to walk up and offer $30,000 cash and I would let them drive it away.

The ebony with the new trans maybe $4k as it is one of the nicest conditioned '92's I have ever seen.
