OK, I will I just signed up for an Evolution autoX school in late July in northern IN. Two days of hands on instruction. Before I leave for the class starts I've got the following to wrap-up:

-replace front Koni inserts as they are leaking (dropped them out today and they are on their way back to Koni tomorrow)
-braided SS brake lines and flushed/bled brake system
-harnesses (on hand) and new seats (ordering this week)
-finish 60K service (plugs) and replace valve cover gaskets
-trans cooler
-LAN ECU upgrade (stage 1v4 I believe-bought it second-hand though un-installed)

That should take care of the loose nut and the car. If I can dramtically improve (which shouldn't be too hard) my times in this car, I'll finally wrap up the five speed and see what I can do with that one.

BTW-for those with leaking Koni inserts I have the paperwork for repair/replacement. I have chosen to have mine repaired as the inserts have changed OAL and some other features from the first set I ordered in '02 (these) to the second set I ordered in '06. The other option was replacement inserts but that requires a change to my powdercoated, modified for GC housings

Todd,
Looks good. My only suggestion would be to contact LAN and see if he'll cut you a deal on trading in the 1v4 on the latest 1v5 chip. Every thing I've read to date indicates that the 1v5 represents a significant improvement over the 1v4 chip.

Thanks for the encouragement Bill I'll contact LAN about upgrade potential.

Tonight I dropped coin on new seats by Recaro. I opted for the Sport model. Should be in in 3-4 weeks. Hope to have them before the Evolution school.

I need to order camber bolts too. I can get them locally however. Front and rear???

Thanks Dave.

Koni's are being evaluated today. Hope to have an answer and return date soon.

Installed Goodridge SS brake lines last night and will flush/re-fill the system with new fluid soon.

Making headway.

I belive LAN offers an upgrade to 1v5 for $79.00. You can order them here: http://www.smallcar.com/index.php?act=viewCat&catId=4 or through ebay.

Todd,
Nice! Did they say anything about the expected cause of the leakage?

Been trading voice mails with Paul at Koni about these but did not get a cause. These were from the '02 Group Buy I set up that had an abnormally high number of leakers. Embarassingly, these were only installed early May of this year and as I was installing them I knew they were leaking. Koni has done right by me and I will buy more. Not sure what they will be installed upon however as I now have two sets of SVX Koni's (and only two SVX's), the truck has a full set of Fox gas-charged remote reservoir, and the Legacy is fully spec'd with Bilstein (very nice BTW).

Rear sway bar endlinks this weekend and I'm replacing the rubber bushings in the bar ends with Al and the mounts with PU (once I confirm the part number that is).

Harness clips due Friday and I need an update on the Recaro's (probably won't have them before the school )

Ordered valve cover bolt gaskets which should be in Friday.

Getting close...Evo school 7/21-22 and Subaru Challenge-Lafayette style 7/28

Got the Koni's and the SPX camber bolts today Installation tonight...however no one's home to help me bleed the brakes so no test drive

Friday the Al bushings for the rear sway bar are being made up and I'm picking up the sway bar mount bushings for the rear.

Todd,
nice progress! you know, they do make kits that allow for a single person to bleed the brakes
-Bill
p.s. when are you going to post pics of the new seats (installed!)?

I know Bill, but my car expenses have come under the microscope the last couple of months (now that we have a new car payment) and I have postponed several new purchases (Milwaukee 28V Li-ion cordless impact wrench, 245/40-17 Bridgestone RE-01R tires, etc).

I did however upgrade to Stage 1 v.5 yesterday. Should have that tomorrow or Saturday.

Seats and harnesses-trust me once installed, pictures will be taken and posted

Another good night! Got the front camber bolts installed, the SS braided brake lines finished and bled, the upgraded rear sway bar links, aluminum bushings, polyurethane body mounts. Test drive was nice Now, corner weighting and alignment for max negative camber and the suspension is done...for now

Evolution school this coming weekend. Check seat status tomorrow.

WOO HOO! Seats are in and picking them up tomorrow! Brackets...still waiting.

The handling changes are subtle so far. Minimal increase in road noise with the rear sway bar mods (PU frame mount, aluminum bushings, new end links) but I'm unsure of the effects of the reduced compliance at this time. I did raise the ride height 15mm per corner per all y'all's recommendations and I like that change. Brake changes are very nice I'm getting the fluid flushed and replaced tomorrow and tonight I hope to have the horns remounted...coulda used them today
