Non SVX engine prob.
Sorry about the non-svx post, but i dont know who else to ask.
The car: 97 grand cherokee 5.2L - 190,000 miles. Problem: For the first 5 or so seconds after I start it, the valves (i think) make the worst clacking noise. It sounds absolutely horrible. After that point, all goes quiet and the car runs like new. any thoughts? -Mike |

I was going thru the service records, and noted the oil hasnt been changed in almost a year. THAT might be something to do. Wow that's embarassing.

You might try what's worked for me over the years - any multiple of 3000 is time for service, i.e. 66,000, 69,000, 72,000... *hates the little tags in the window - can't read them without squinting*
