The SVX was assembled on a SVX only line which was mothballed after production ceased in 1996. I visited the main Subaru factory in Ota City in 2001 when I was living in Gunma. There was nothing remaining as the production line had been changed over to making Subaru Pleo models.

I visited a few more times as Subaru often had 'open days' and they also recently opened a Subaru car museum. But there is NO SVX model on display and the only reference to the SVX is a cutaway of the EG33 engine. I made sure that I completed a 'Customer's Comment' card to note my disapproval of no SVX in the museum.

Ota City is interesting because there is a large South American population in Gunma with most working at FHI factories or their subsidiaries, so parts of Ota City look more South American than Japanese. I also found a small cake shop there that made cookies in the shape of various Subaru models including the SVX!
