Gas prices (now?)
OK, I am about to blow my top. I saw what some of you were posting about gas prices and did some research. Again, I have found that here in Idaho we have the second highest prices for gas in the nation. Anyone else want to add to the location/price list?
Average In the Boise/Nampa, Idaho area. Unleaded $1.44 (87 octane) Unlead plus $1.54 (89 octane) Premium $1.64 (92 octane) Premium + ethanol 10% $1.59 (94 octane) Seems to follow the 10 cent per grade rule all around our area except a few places that sell the 89 for only 5 cent more, but the premium is still 20 cents more than unleaded. I think only Washington state has higher gas prices. Give me your area and prices. If this gets to be too much a joke, I am going to forward such information to the local media and attorney generals office.

Friday, I filled up at 1.15.9 (what's up with the freakin' .9? Why the heck can't they just say 1.16?!?!?) per gallon -- 93 Octane Premium. Of course, prices change day to day here. I've gotten it for as little as 1.14.9 on Wednesday and found it at 1.19.9 the Friday of the very same week.

Ann Arbor, MI
Reg'lar - $1.19.9
Fancy - $1.29.9 Premium - $1.39.9 It goes up and down, and the price difference between the grades varies, but that 20cents between regular and premium is pretty standard.

Chris,
If it makes you feel any better, I'm paying the equivalent of $1.45USD/Gallon for the premium here in Toronto. Canadian gasoline taxes are higher than just about any state. But I'm not complaining, because the poor souls in Europe, Asia, and Down Under are paying ahelluvalot more than what we pay. For example, while I was in Hong Kong in October, my dad was getting gas at $1.40USD/Litre. That's $5.30USD a gallon. VK |

Bah!
All you weenies have it easy, in Anchorage where I live I am currently paying $1.76 for premium and thats only 92 octance, the highest that I can find here. That is fairly cheap too. It was running in the $1.90 range for awhile there. Gas is actually much cheaper here than in the outlying communities, im sure that they are over $2/gallon if they can even get premium.
I think we are actually number two in the nation with Hawaii being number 1 (was $2.06 for premium when I was there a few months ago). Idaho might be number 3 (no offense Chris). And most of the oil comes from here too, makes a lot of sense doesn't it. That and the $4 gallons of milk get old real quick. OK i'm done venting now. 0260N4 |

Sign-up and come to the 10th Anniv. SVX Meet in Indiana and I'll fill up the SVX tank for you (with premium gasoline) at the meet. Please note that this is a one time offer only. It lasts until midnite tonight and is not valid in Kentucky. I want Alaska represented at this meet. Larry III PS: Isn't it shameless the way some people carry on, just to get what they want. |

The prices at my standard "watering hole" this morning:
Regular: 0.95 Plus 1.05 Premium 1.15 (93 Oct.) Again, this is an Ashland station. Considered to be "Brand Name." Supposedly, in my hometown of Bowling Green, prices are pennies cheaper.

and on the left coast...
Here's what AAA just published a couple of days ago:
For a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline Nationwide $1.20; California, $1.42; San Francisco, $1.75; San Jose, $1.57; Santa Cruz, $1.65 I commonly pay around $1.79 for premium in the San Jose area. That's down from $2.25 this time last year. About 6 months ago they lowered the octane rating on premium from 92 to 91 (it has something to do with eliminating the additive MTBE). Cheers, Matt |
