I think it was Dino but I like Redline gear oil. Since you only change it every 60K, I can justify the expense.

Re: Transmission Drain

well tranny and diffs are done..dirty on all 3, I'm sure the Seafoam had something to do with the transmissions and the magnets on all three left me with a smile, nothing but very fine metallic dust on them. Now, is there not a magnet on the tranny drain plug?Mine didn't, but when i dropped the pan I noticed a factory "nipple" in directly under the rectangular opening in the filter with a "donut" magnet about the size of a golf ball and and 3/8 of an in. thick.
NE ways.....didn't add the Lubegard yes as I'll be draining and refilling next week and, but my torque bind is gone now in tight turns.

Re: Transmission Drain

The drain plug on the transmission doesn't have a magnet. The magnet is in the fluid pan.

Re: Transmission Drain

Means either the transmission has never been into or, someone did it just like the factory using red silicone.

Re: Transmission Drain

My transmission had a gasket, and the parts listing for the car has a gasket.

Re: Transmission Drain

It's the oil pan which has no gasket then. The transmission does.
