biggest tire on stock rim

i was looking on the wheel threads and couldnt find what would be the biggest tire on a stock svx rim without rubbing?

Before you go with a big tire, what trans do you have in it now?
And, yes it is necessary to your decision.
If you have a manual transmission, 4.11s or 4.44s it is safer for the drivetrain to install a bigger tire.
I have a pretty big set of tires on my son Nick's stock wheels, and they don't rub, (but he has 4.44s.)

I am using 25.6" diamiter tires on my car with no issue even riding on the bumpstops in the rear.

height right now they are 225/50/16 the parts car came with 225/55/16 i wonder how big in height.

i'm running a 3.54 wrx transmissions

I had 215/60 that probably have the same height at 225/55 and had no issues. I believe Tony in Australia was running like 235/65 or something crazy. Granted, he has some pretty unique suspension

i'm looking at set of 225/60r16 winter tires for my car which are a really good deal

but will the 60 height be too much?

no one knows, You need to fit them to find out.

No, they'll rub but not horribly, usually only while turning and hitting bumps at the same time or if the spring and shocks aren't up to snuff.

AND with an almost 2" taller tire you are 7.1% harder on your transmission.
