OT- WRX turbo questions
could someone that's familiar with turbo's give me some more info on up and down pipes on the WRX? i know the basic operation of the turbocharger, but maybe its the terminology that's got me. would they reduce lag a little? are they a b&^@# to install? i'm mainly looking for increased reliability and a little less lag, although some extra power wouldn't hurt either. thanks!

I think they give you quicker spoolup.
A few of us in the Tri-state area on I-club started doing installs for people http://iace.com/azp and we've done an up pipe and a few downpipes. Not a fun job, a million bolts to take off, but if done early on, they are much easier. Should take about 4hrs with 2 guys working on it. -mike |

Remember that warranty!
SOA likes to void warranties left and right for aftermarket parts. Ever notice how they include a membership to SCCA with the WRX, but there's a clause in the warranty that says if you participate in any racing events it 'may' void the warranty? The specific US warranty act states that dealerships can only refuse warranty coverage when the part in question is PROVEN to cause the failure. Tough to do. So kiddies, the moral of the story is stay friendly with your dealership and you'll be much better off. Todd BTW- I'm heading off to my dealership to pick up a Legacy pedal box (FREE) for my conversion this ThursdaY. WooHoo!

Isnt it great to have friends at the dealer? I've gotten so much free junk from my dealer just by going in and keeping them company for a little every now and then. I'm the only person in the area with a SVX that uses this dealer, so they always throw little svx parts my way.

I have 8 Legacy/Outback company cars I take to my local dealer. They kept my XT6 alive for the last few years at a very low price.
