Pre cat pipe replacement

Anyone ever have to replace their precats/pipes?

If so, what did you use to replace them with and how bad a job was it.

I have exhaust leak from a crack or hole so thinking about going from the manifolds on back and have it all be good at the same time so just looking for advice and hints.

PM YT.

He's done some jobs where he just welds 2 90* pipes together to replace them.

there is a thread about it.

I replaced mine with a custom made dual exhaust. Cost = $425 for manifold back.

Re: Pre cat pipe replacement

I just did the same. I had a shop create some pipes to weld in the 2 Magnaflow 50004 cats I provided them. Cost: about CAD$400

Re: Pre cat pipe replacement

Did the shop say how bad a time they had with the manifold to pipe bolts getting them off?

Also, did you do anything else with the exhaust from the main cat on back?

I assume they also created bungs for O2 sensors?

Re: Pre cat pipe replacement

Can shops even legally replace the precats with a pipe? I know shops cant legally create a straight pipe to replace the regular cat, but I dont know about the precats. If they can't "replace" the precat, I guess you can just have them create a pipe for "race days" that you can put on yourself.

Re: Pre cat pipe replacement

Stebro in Toronto makes a complete system. You can buy any pieces you want.

I picked up front pipes, manifolds, cats from a salvage yard in the US prairies. No rust or holes. Stebro pipe from the cat to muffler.
