I removed the muffler and was able to use my drill with a 1/2" drill bit in the inlet of the muffler. I had to use a punch to make indentations in the pipes so the bit wouldn't slide off. I used a smaller bit to drill pilot holes and then followed it up with the larger bit. Like Eric mentioned it only cost me my time. Maybe 30 min total. Also I forgot to mention that my exhaust system is all stock except that the resonator between the cats and muffler was replaced with a piece of pipe last summer because the internals were buzzing.
