Removing Kick Plate Cover

Member on Yahoo SVX Group having a problem removing kick plate cover in order to pull codes. Any advice/tips? Is it simply stuck, perhaps rust? Any help appreciated. Take me out of the loop - go to Yahoo SVX Group and post your suggestions. Thanks.

Take off the sill plate along the door first, then use a screwdriver to pop it off. Also, I believe the top section has hooks, so you pop off the bottom part, then push it upwards, then pull off. I think.
