'94 SVX Transmissions

I've got a lead on an '94 SVX for my son. Had Subaru improved the design of the transmission by 1994 or are they as problematic as the '92 transmissions?

Thanks

Significant Technical Input
All of the updates should be in place on '94 and up, providing there wasn't a split year.

Split year?

Thanks Beav. How do I tell if it is a split year?

Some 94's have 2 airbags and manual seatbelts and some only have 1 airbag and auto seatbelts.

But that may not apply to the transmission. Split years, many times, pertain to when the specific component was changed.
