How much would you pay

How much would you pay to do the following:

1. Remove my tranny and diff from SVX
2. Remove the diff from the tranny.
3. Remove another diff from another tranny
4. reattach the removed diff (from 3) and put it back on the tranny(from 2)
5. Put the tranny back in the SVX.

There is a guy who is willing t do it but he wants me to find out a fair price first so that he does not charge too much.

I was going to do the same thing, but went ahead and had the tranny rebuilt since it was out anyway. That was $2200 for him to do it all. It was $1700 if I brought all the parts in and they just did the rebuild and diff swap (1700's the option I choose).

I can't remember for sure, but I think he wanted like $400 to do the swap, so if my memory is/was OK, then it would have been about $900 to pull, swap, and reinstall.

I honestly don't remember how long it took to get my auto out. I remember taking off the exhaust, driveshaft, ball joints, front axles but it was done over a few weeks time.

So you are saying it should be around 400-900. Thats as much to put in a 5 speed for 900 or so.

Yeah, I was going to say $400-600, based on my experience having transmissions pulled in other cars...I'd push for the $400 figure....

I understand, I thought it high too. I was told it's because when the tranny is broken away from the diff to get the pinion out there are seal kits to be bought, the tube that separates the diff fluid from the torque converter and ATF, filter replaced. etc.

Are you going for 4.11s or replacing with standard diffs?
