Tranny Thermostatic Valve / Tranny Cooler
To those who were sicussing where to find one, Perma-cool has one at
http://www.perma-cool.com/Catalog/Cat_page14.html "When oil temperature exceeds 180°F the thermostatic valve closes, allowing 95% flow through the oil cooler. At temperatures below 180°F the valve is open, with 90% of the oil bypassing the cooler. The remaining 10% of the oil flows through the cooler, maintaining constant system pressure, preventing air pockets and eliminating cold oil shock. Flows up to 20 gallons per minute (GPM). Rated to 200 p.s.i. Thermostat mounting kits containing four brass fittings, four stainless steel hose clamps and two nylon tie mounts are sold separately." It will compliment their tranny coolers and tranny filter kit. I know this only because I am about to purchase the whole kaboodle (filter kit w/gauge, tranny cooler, and valve) They have two types of radiators available...the "thin-line" one and the "heavy duty" one.... which is the one I should get? heavy duty sounds like truck and RV coolers....a bit of overkill, yes? |
