Had a black male cat once that played a kind of singles tennis match with mice he would catch in the yard. He would fling the little things so high, they qualified for frequent flier miles. After a few minutes he would deliver "the bite" and put them out of their misery. Then he would deposit them on the front steps for our approval...Good Boy! Don

Yes Don

It seems strange that intelligent hunters play with the prey. It may be a learning mode, or triumphalism.

My FEMALE DOG catches odd things like butterflies, moths and even bees, and plays with them for a while before the chop. Our garden is not an awfully safe place to be if you are of a certain size!!

<Was that a Weissach remark?>

I can't sit passively by, and not comment on how this thread is being steered off-topic.
Of course the symbosism of a cat playing with a mouse may be relevant here...

Owners of Spitfires [the earthbound variety] deserve this mental apoplexy. They were definitely a Triumph of style over substance. But they were way ahead of their time in one facet of modern auto engineering, Planned Obsolescence.

This was primarily due to the cunning use by Triumph of the renowned designer, good egg and general bright spark, Lucas Lectrical. He saw in the precursor of a new Generation. Cars retained that cherished British tradition of looking the same as your grandad remembered it, but you had to buy a new one anyway, because it wouldn't work.

How stylish the inside of your garage had become!! Waves of Deja Vous coming over me again and again!! Nostalgia is not like it used to be in the old days!!

And now that we have laid the ghost of Lucas Lectrical, we return to our hi-tech discussions and worship of the great Gods Aisan Autobox and Fuji MountUs. I think the good old days are only beginning!!

Great mines...I mean "minds"!

Joe,
I like the way you express yourself; we need to meet in a pub of your choice someday. When I was in London, my one scheduled trip to Ireland was canceled when a emergency came up regarding Ka-daffy. I would love to visit your fair island; my older sister has been there three times. We could share a bit of the blarney! Don

Pub Visit

is definitely on!

If you are flying to London, don't fly by the door without dropping in.

Steeriously, Don, if you have any plans to visit this way, I would be delighted to meet and share the Blarney. There's a load of it here!

If you are not coming this summer, I will look forward to the 10th Anniversary meet, which, if work allows, I am planning to attend.

BTW, as Keeper, did you know your lighthouse lantern is turning anticlockwise? Did you overtension the spring??

Joe

Putting a spin on it

<BTW, as Keeper, did you know your lighthouse lantern is turning anticlockwise? Did you overtension the spring?? >

Your powers of observation astound me! Good eyes Joe!

You may believe one of the folloing:
(1) the rotational direction is a "fingerprint" of my particular lighthouse; similar to the differing paint/stripe designs to indicate visually to ships at sea which lighthouse they are seeing. Being backwards fits my style....just ask Aredub! or...
(2) that is the way it was when I copied it from a list of clip art.

...yes, I figured you would get the right answer.

Thanks for the invitation for a pint at the pub. Not this year, but soon hopefully!
Don

Open invitation Don.

You know our Aboriginal friends in Oz believe we come from the Dreamtime? This is a philosophy I love and use in life to get what I want. Need something bad enough, dream it and dream it. Then, when you can see the dream clearly enough, it is easy to plot the distance between where you are and your dream. Make the dream a reality.

No point in starting the dream bit unless you are motivated to achieve the last bit, making it a reality. With belief, anything is possible!

So the pint and chat is an assignation, we will just set a date to it later.

Joe
