I'll be there

I'm coming up from Portland, so the further south the better for me. I was kind of hoping to check out the Olympic penninsula area, but I could do that on the way back if no one else wants to. I'm not sure how far that is from Seattle. I won a stay at the Resort at Ludlow Bay. Looks pretty killer from what I have seen. Hopefully I will have my new exhaust done and new(bigger) nitrous jets in by then. How many do we have so far?

Maybe 6 or so. I will put out an email tonight or tomorrow to the whole list of members on the meet. Maybe we can get some response. I will give Jerry a double email so we can get him out and about.

Talking

Just got the "go-ahead", (Work-wise), So looking foreward to meeting eveyone this Saturday. I'll be heading down with my girlfriend, maybe even do a little shopping. I would like to ask that directions be posted to "where - ever" we are meeting. I know Seattle, it's a fun place, but all it takes is to make one wrong turn and you've just lost 1/2 an hour getting back to where you should have turned... I enjoy driving, and even getting lost a little, as long as my co-pilot has enough patience... I just see it as a challenge...

Hmmmm The Olympic penninsula is huge so how close to Seattle depends on which part. The pennisula is one of my favorite places, it's got a little of everything. Maybe we can work out a drive route that heads out that ways a bit. I'll see what I can come up with today.

I wouldn't mind at all, that would be new territory for me too, so I'd think it would be fun. Do you have any specific details in mind? And one more thing, I have to inquire, are there any malls around? I have to accomodate, or "compromise" with my girlfriend, you know, 1 hour kicking tires and car talk = 2 hours in a mall shopping.... You get the picture......

Ok Troy - what do you have up your sleve? This is really becoming the true mystery meet.

Thanks for all the input, I will work on something today (didn't I say that yesterday LOL). My overall plan is to start around the Tacoma area (a bit south of Seattle) and then take the bridge over to the pennisula area. Then make our way up along the east edge of the pennisula to Port Townsend at the top. Take the ferry from there to Whidbey Island, then drive north and off the island by crossing Deception Pass. Once back on the mainland, it is a short drive back to I-5, where we would probably split up to go home, north or south. I will get into much more detail though and work in some shopping. Maybe we can start at Southcenter mall or another in that area. And we'll definitely spend some decent time in Port Townsend, for those that like to shop there are tons of "cute little shops" and for the rest its just nice scenery on the water to hang out and talk, etc. We could drive up to the fort there too and see where 95% of "An Officer and a Gentleman" was filmed, and where I got engaged.

More info

Well you are seeing this all put together as it goes.... At any point feel free to throw in some input if something doesn't sound good, etc.

How's this for a starting point? Tacoma Mall:
http://www.tacoma-mall.com/smt/servl...&pn=ENTRY&rs=0

I've never been there so I'm not sure where to meet, maybe we could just pick one of the "anchor stores" (Like Sears?) and we can meet in front of there. If anyone knows what big store the food court and stuff is by though let us know. Some might like morning coffee, etc.

Would this be a good place to meet? We could hang there for an hour or so for meeting and those that want to shop can go in the mall too.

What time would everyone be able to make it here? Don't want to make everyone get up TOO early, but also would like a good part of the day for the actual driving tour.

Okay I found a floor plan to the mall and looks like the food court has an outside entrance. Located right between JC Penney and Nordstrom. How about we park in front of the food court as best we can, I think some of the eateries in there are open early and people could duck in for coffee, etc.
