Looked at an SVX with.....

When the car started it squealed. It didn't stop nor change with engine speed. It had power steering fluid and the A/C compressor worked and had no effect on the sound. Also the engine would rev between 500-1000 rpms pretty quickly. I put it in reverse and it wanted to surge w/each so called, unasked for, rev. Any idea on the problem? No "check engine" light.

Maybe it's the blowerr motor? Try adjusting the blower speed and listen for a change in pitch.

I am probably not going to go back. The guy was asking $2800 for it but I was not too impressed by it. I don't want a headache. I will see what insurance gives me, then shop within my real price range. It was not a bargain even at that price.
