Poll: Dates For Reading 13
.
This poll is to choose your preferences, based upon the available dates in the "Reading 13 Dates" thread. To keep things less confusing, please vote for only one. The poll will be open for your vote for 30 days and will close on Saturday, June 25, 2011. That should give everyone interested enough time to cast their vote and give a firm idea of what we want. I will contact the hotel with the dates the majority have chosen the following Monday (June 27). Remember, Reading 13 is now only 11 months away. .

How about locations? That is a nice area of PA but it would be nicer if we could find a place with a pavillion that also allows beer. And it seems like people are not as excited with the driving tour as they once were. One suggestion would be the finger lakes area of NY. There are state parks with gorges and falls that have pavillions and allow drinks. There is also Watkins Glen race track nearby. We might be able to rent it out for a small fee. I can look into it if there is interest. Finally, there are dozens of wineries on the lakes. We can do a driving tour of Lake Seneca, for example, and hit a bunch of wineries. In addition, there is an Amish crafts place in Penn Yan that is like a big indoor flea market, crafts and organic foods market. Just a thought for mixing things up a little.........

Tony, You would probably have a better chance of moving Mardi Gras out of New Orleans.  We had opposition when we moved Reading from Morgantown to Denver, PA (only 17 miles away). Its all about tradition and memories I guess. .

I have noticed there are a lot of SVX in the North on here , NY, and New England . We almost have enough for a met at the Fingerlakes. I don't know if i will still be driving an SVX but I would consider going anyway.

Earl has the Dabob Seafood Meet for SVXs in Washington State every year , why not another meet for the NE members? Keeps you from experiencing "Reading Withdrawal" But we need to stay on topic .

im going to have to agree with john on this one..many of us that have been coming for years already know where the location is so it makes it a bit easier for those of us to plan another trip out next year,or to help guide people in,.and also those of us that come every year might also know whats around the area to eat, and if anyone needed anything we might know where to find it.
I'd also like to point out that alot of us sometimes tend to do some drinking..and im thinking its good not everybody is driving becuase they can stumble thier way right into the hotel,instead of everyone being at risk of an accident or DUI. Some might say we could exclude the alcohol..but i KNOW that wont go over well LOL i agree it might be cool to have some "change of scenery" but in this case perhaps we could create another event as afformentioned and have this just seperate from reading ? Im not trying to cuase any problems or make anyone upset by posting all this but i just thought it might provide some needed input
