Re: The Revival of a former parts car

I love it. The paint looks amazing and the two-tone is very well done but now this makes the third SVX that I've seen with this paint job.. Maybe I'll have to think of something else..

Re: The Revival of a former parts car

p.s. I have some videos up on you tube that give some better views of my car. http://www.youtube.com/user/wjohnson111094[/QUOTE]

Fine videos, you guys have really paid attention to detail. Your car is going to be sensational. My restoration project is somewhat smaller scale, but I'm hoping for similar results when its all said and done.

Oh and ....great choice of tunes, here I thought I'd be the only opera fan playing Pagliacci on the SVX sound system

Pearl White SVX, Pearl Hood scoop with a deranged "Hello Kitty" murel on the hood with the Kitty's mouth,(in a classic Cheshire Cat Grinn,) as the air duct on the hood?!

Dang... I knew that I made the wrong decision with the paint... hello kitty would have gotten me way more chicks! (Funny story, I actually considered putting a hood scoop on the car!)

Ya I had a slight ricer/Japanese moment. I'm ashamed of myself enough already...

Back on topic, my car now has a full interior and all but the upper trim panels, and the wheels are on the car. *insert impossibly big smilie here*

Re: The Revival of a former parts car

Very nice and very well done for a different paint scheme. I think if I get another Pearlie (have owned 3--all still in the family) think I might have it repainted all in Pearl with no black trim. I have seen one like that and it was beautiful. My dream is to acquire a 94 Pearlie sometime in the future.

Re: The Revival of a former parts car

Well as of a week ago, my car has shoes. I put on 17x7.5 Koing Feathers with a 45 offset. They are mounted on 225/45R-17XL 94Y VSB Hankook Ventus V12. I got all of this for a steal. The wheels only weigh about 16.8 lb.

here is a video
http://youtu.be/78CLvyPMy94

I am super happy.

p.s. if you ever want to get $40 off of your bill through discount tire, call and inquire about the wheel, then call back in about an hour and call the same person and they will give you $40 off for calling them back.

Re: The Revival of a former parts car

Ok well I have ran into a quite big problem... the security system. I think it is malfunctioning. Every time I get in the car it goes of, every time I open the door/trunk it goes off. I've tried the deactivation sequence, and I replaced the lock solenoid. At this point I'm thinking of just yanking this thing out and goin' old-school an putting some booby-traps inside (sawed-off shotgun might work) but seriously, where is it and how can I remove it?

edit: I'm also having some problems with removing hard water spots on all the glass on the car. Steel wool sorta works, and so does this polishing compound my dad has had since 1973, but both require about an hour of scrubbing though. Anybody have a better way?

Re: The Revival of a former parts car

On 92s, the security module is up above the glove compartment. You gotta remove the glove compartment to access it. Have you tried turning it off via the security button to the left of the steering wheel? (Disconnecting the battery will turn it back on.) Do you have the remote for it?

I have no fob, the button doesn't seem to work. I've discontented the battery to try to shut it off. So far nothing has worked, to I want to yank it out. Now how would I go about that?
