And according to Wikipedia it's not "pink", it's "Cherry Blossom Red" or "Rubine Red". But a rose by any other name drives the same, or something like that.

Look at what Toyota has done to both the SR-5 and TRD lines. They're just sticker packages now and have been for a while. I complained a lot when they started putting SR-5 (Sport Rally 5 Speed) stickers on automatics in the '90s but I gave up and realized that if a sticker is all you want, then a sticker you should get.

I did a little more research and found that in the '90s STi was only working on Imprezas and Legacys, so Phil's badge is a unique exterior upgrade, but an upgrade none the less. I don't think this is something I would do on my car, but if you're SVX is upgraded in any way putting an STi badge on it would make more sense than an SR-5 sticker on an auto. IMHO. To each their own.

Water got inside the badge and rotted out all the silvering. It was completely black. So I though I'd have some fun with it.

I took it apart and pressed silver foil in the grooves, back filled them with hot glue and then sprayed it with pink spray paint. It looks better in the photo than in real life. It's not too bad from a distance but up close you can see that the pink is a bit speckled and silver foil is dull, it doesn't shine like it should. The SVX lettering was done with some silver paint and a small brush. If I ever decide to tidy up the bodywork on that car then I'll probably replace it with a new badge.

there are actual STi parts made for Imprezas and Legacys, and STi versions of those cars.

i think putting an STI sticker/badge on a SVX, that never had an STi model or parts made for it, is cheesy and ricey ..... like sticking an SRT-4 badge on a Chrysler Town & Country minivan.

I've got a shifter bezel and boot for my manual transmission from an 05 STi that says "STi" on it, and I for one think it's bad ass

Since Subaru plants are now building Toyotas, why not merge the Subaru STI performance division



with Toyota's TRD performance division




and come up with a new logo?

Too late...

The previous owner gave my car all sorts of STDs. The whole thing turned black and the door sills ended up a sickly teal.

STeeL25: nice STi 5speed SVX. If Subaru had thought of it first I'm sure it would look a lot like yours.

Not looking for a fight, just discussing ways to class up the exterior of a car. I'm thinking of debadging my entire car anyways, so this isn't for me.
