Bit of a whinge

Well, as just about all of you know, I have been seeking an SVX for a very long time...especially a yellow one (one 2 in Australia).

The one that I was closest to getting was a bit too much $$ but now with a changed job situation, it was obtainable.

The guy selling the car (his wife's) was great...bent over backwards to help when I spoke with him some time ago.

This evening, I call to see if it was still available and was answered by the wife.

No, the car was sold, no she would not tell me how much it sold for (despite her hubbie telling me what he wanted and what was offered as trade in), my submissions that it is a very very rare car and incredibly difficult to put a market value on fell + that I was not Joe Public car dealer but had spoken with hubbie at length on the car fell on deaf ears, yes she would pass my details on to the new owners, no she did not need a pen nor need to take my details (err.......her hubbie has probably long lost my phone number).

All in all, not a nice person......whereas just about every single person I have ever met, either on or offline, is great and loves their cars.

So now, one of the two rarest SVX's disappears into the ether.

A pox on their house!!!

Am I destined never to have one????

James

Marooned??

Tough luck James.

Maybe you should reconsider being a yellow owner. If 50% of the owners are that inconsiderate, you should look to belong to another group.

Forget the Yellow Perils, they are bad eggs!! Join the Claret set, or luxuriate with the Liquid Silver sages.

Bummer

Joe

Thanks Joe!

I am consoling my spirit eating a packet of Monster Munch...brought all the way from the homeland!! That and Chef sauce are all that we want!!!

James

PS: the scans of the Zoom SVX review (a member here in Sydney, Gordon, now owns the car...he bought it after they did the review) are in my locker

James,
Despite my urge to relish in the fact that another Y****w SVX has "disappeared," I have to say that yours is a sad, sad story.

It seems that the female sector, aside from those who seek out this forum, do not have the verve for the SVX that us men do. The previous owner bought my SVX with the intentions of replacing his wife's "Reatta." She opted to keep the Reatta (can you believe it?). Not so much that she didn't like the SVX, but bucause it was a 4-seater and she was afraid her mother and sister would ask her to drive when they went shopping (the Reatta is a 2-seater). Ah, the workings of the female mind.

Keep searching!
