Power steering variable boost

Has anyone tried cleaning or examining the boost control valve on the rack on a car that has speed sensitive boost? My 92 has a new pump, but the boost is behaving like it was wired up wrong for about the past year. Too much boost on the freeway and not enough on slow speed turns after a medium speed one. It is like the valve is not reacting to the new speed quick enough.

Good to see you still at it. That's a curly one, I'll have a look in the book, to see what could be the cause. Any other clues?

Had a look Ken, As you say it seems to be delayed action. It may be a restricted hydraulic line. May be dented or squashed metal pipe or a flexable hose that has an internal restriction.
This would delay the drop in the rack pressure, When the control valve turns the assist off.
Then again it could be the solenoid sticking. Though this would be erratic in it's behaviour.
If it is a regular action, go for the restriction. If it is erratic in it's action, then go for the control valve solenoid, it uses a modulated signal the same as the gear box solenoids.
