My transmission is weird

I put the new one in and took it for a drive, no change except for the power light not blinking at start up. I think the clutch pack for 2nd is most likely toast. Just for curiosity I cleaned the old one off and plugged it in and it works apparantly. So I've got the same problem and a spare sensor #1. Looks like I should start saving up for that big step up to a 5 speed and never look back.

I was going through how-to files just now and read the one on brake band adjusting. Could my problem be related to this? Upshift from 1st to 3rd?
