I have a Magellan GPS. IDK what model it is but it cost about $300. It works great except takes about 5 minutes to get coordinated like what seems to happen to everyone else.

Garmin Nuvi

I have a Garmin Nuvi and it works just fine, once it finds the satellites (which can take 5 - 15 minutes in the SVX). The Nuvi finds the satellites much faster in my wifes Honda minivan, so the SVX windshield does have an effect, but only when you first turn it on.

So do you think that if I hold it outside the window for a while until it gets the signal and then put it on the window, will it work? I would think that even though it got the signal outside the car as soon as you put it inside it cannot read the signal anymore. How does your NUVI work once it gets the signal. Does it keep the signal?
