Donation

I for one have been holding out on donating until all can come up with a secure address and how you's are going to post it, I don't think it matters on how much one sends in. it is what one can help with...so to point in a direction of one sending more does not make one that sends less then the other be less involve with the group. Some give some and some gave all but all stood together to keep the group intact. To me it does not matter who gives or don't but if you can do. if one can't don't put the person where he or she feels uncomfortable because they don't have a dollar sign next to there name.. We have some cruel people in this world that would make remarks at the person that does not have to give but has been a active player in the group...All that should be necessary is the amout the group received. I beleived we get more response in this matter.

Class distinction.

I tend to agree that we should not put a $ value on our members.

All members contribute to the network, one way or another. Why should we now value the $ contribution over the other contributions, like friendship, information, assistance, support.?

In my opinion, once the mighty$ is valued over people, all is lost.

Harvey.

Opinions heard and noted.

I have come up with hopefully a better way.
I will post the idea here once I hear feedback from the officers.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I am sure that every member is able to contribute something. As long as actual amounts donated are not published, surely no one can grizzle regarding recognition of donations, and this does provide a justifiable incentive.

Should $50 be the minimum donation?

That's not very fair to those of us who don't have $50 to donate. I'm a college student with extremely high tuition rates...I don't have an extra $50 laying around.

There will be no minimum, ever. Donate what you can. And if you cant, so what, we still want you here.

Also, adressing the dollar signs. This is a very temp fix, however we will institute a way for people to be recognized as donating members. As far as trying to create a different "class", that is not our goal. But dont think that there wont be any "benefits" of being a donor.

Looks like the mailing address on the FAQ page has been updated. Is that the new, correct address you were talking about?

(BTW, the title of that FAQ message still says "A/C Donation information", so somebody might want to update it to indicate that it's for general donations)

News!

UPDATE

I have got a totally separate bank account now set up for the SVXWN. In the next few days I will have paypal set up to it for easy tracking. My bank will also transition the account to a FREE business account at no charge when I can get all my 501(c) completed. A new Paypal link will be posted when the account becomes activated and verified with Paypal.

Can I send some $$ to the old Paypal or should I hold out for the new account? Finally have some extra $$ and want to send some the way of the network that helps me help myself.

The old one is fine for the moment. I am just trying to separate my personal checking account and paypal from SVXWN monies. All the paypal donations will get moved into the new account next week after the account validates.

Thanks for your support.

Keep in mind there will be a posted fund raiser soon so we can purchase a new server to run on. The old one has gone gray.

Would somebody please confirm what is the correct snail-mail address people can mail checks to? Is it the address now shown on the FAQ page (in Nampa, ID)?

I've been ready to send in my payment for over two weeks now.

The Nampa address is fine. I do not have Jim on the account yet, so it would make it easier if the check/money order was made out to "Chris Townsend." Any that have already been sent and made out to Jim is fine. He will just have to cash them and deposit into another account. This will be made easier when we can get our 501(c) status. At that point, I will be able to assign multiple trustees on a business account versus the additional personal checking I set up for the time being.

Thanks for your donation.

Thanks. My check is now on its way.

And a reminder to everyone else -- mailing a check or a bill-pay check from your own bank instead of using PayPal will send 100% of your donation to Chris and this site. PayPal eats 2.9% plus 30 cents out of every donation, regardless of how it was funded (credit card or not).
