Harvey.
That's what I was thinking. The p-brake is not very strong at all.

The pre-Legacy/Impreza Subaru's had front wheel hand brakes. Even the disc brake rear end ones.

I have rallied different Subaru's, and handbrake turned many cars...it's fine, you can't do permanent damage. Sure, if you drive with it on, and the rear wheels locked, you'll eventually stuff something (ref towing Subaru's with the front wheels in teh air), but in most cases, you won't brake anything.

I've done this in all AWD car's I've rallied, and it's never been a problem.

would that be the bemidge rally? (sp?) hakkapalitas are sweet tires

as much as people say, there is no such thing as a FWD drift. it's just power sliding.

Drifting in AWD is much more difficult, and much less impressive, actually.

i have drifted my svx, but it's just too heavy a car to be throwing around. STI's with HARD coilovers and evo's are better 4wd drifters, but again, there's nothing better than a RWD drifter.

You don't need to use the emergency brake

unless the breakes go out and then the best you could hope for is a gradual slowdown. When you aren't driving, keep it in parkhttp://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/images/smilies/confused.gif
