Price is Right
If the tranny shifts cleanly after complete warm up and the engine sounds good with no smoke, I think it is a great price even with the mileage and dings. Of course no rust visible either.

I think I'll pass on this one, checked prices around, will have to spend 2-3k to get it up and running. Easier to hunt on ebay for better one. Also check this pic out on the left, the panel is coming off

Huh?
The ad says it is running and can be test driven. Where do you see that it will take 2-3K to get it going? Parts like that plastic rear panel are cheap. ABS sensor on a wheel should not cost to much either from a salvage car. I stand by my original comment unless there is something wrong with it not indicated in the ad.

What is the 2-3k for? It would make a good second svx for a daily driver. Where is it?

Guys Daddy is right, this car needs at least 2-3K. First of all it needs a complete bodywork/paintjob, then a whole new leather interior... But frankly speaking, between an even whole new 2006 Civic or this SVX? you all know what is my choice...

That car is a little beat but probly worth it if it runs and drives. If that car doesnt fit what you want, you may want to browse around the wanted / for sale section. Heck, you midaswell read up any of the how to's and get some information if your planning on owning one of theese cars

Hummmmm
Let's see--what kind of SVX could I have for 15G's plus original purchase price. Well, it would have one of LAN's superchargers, new paint job, new seat covers from Dayle plus Koni suspension, new brakes, exhaust system (either Flatt or Stebro)and........ And I bet I would still have some change left.

I'd take it as a project. From the way you describe your civic, I am assuming that a "project" is not what you have in mind. It could be 4000 out of pocket for the average person to purchase this car and make it decent. You should be able to find an already decent one for about 3000. Just keep in mind that the tranny is going to cost a lot to fix, and that is a risk that is greater when buying a 92/93 svx. You also have the engine oil seals to worry about.
One important question to ask is "When was the tranny fluid changed?" and How often? I think the only reason my tranny was able to accumulate so many miles was due to the fact that I had a great filter and cooler and changed the fluid often. The first time I changed it, (when I got the car) it looked like dark motor oil... couldn't tell it was even tranny fluid. I think this neglect is the biggest enemy for the tranny after the heat issue has been addressed. If someone doesn't know when it was changed, and they’ve had it awhile... I wouldn't get involved. Unless you don't mind doing the tranny swap
