Well, that was the first thing I checked , however there is another thing... the button in the pic above the shifter has always been up, and there isn't a way to get it down. And the thing is, it wont shift when you hit the brake like it should, you have to push the button down to be able to shft. So I dont know if that has anything to do with the tranny not working, but its something else that i'll need to get fixed. ~Dennis

I believe there is a srew of some sort the adjust the brake pedal/button release mechanism. It should be on the center console if you pop out a little insert if I remember corectly. Anyone else know what I'm talking about, because I don't rember 100%

i paid 600 for my tranny and rear end (4.44). solved my problems in a jiffy at a good price. i cant help you with the engine tough. best bet is to chip away at it untill its working. deal with one problem at a time.

and i paid 3000 for my project car (it turned into one real quick)

it was 600 (includes rear) used with 70k on it, svxfiles did the swap for a fee. the whole tranny is replaced as well as the rear end, only think kept from the origional is the limited slip carrier in the rear. but you could op for a svx without limited slip if you really wanted to. shifts are hard and fast (they way it should be) and its a blast to drive. i was thinking about putting a set into my old legacy after i got out of college but my sister totaled it.
