Selling the SVX

Well, It's finally come to the crunch.

Having thought about it over the holidays, I've decided to sell the SVX. It's getting on a bit in miles and after nearly 4 years of ownership, I need a change.

I've pxd it for a Skyline GTST auto, collecting on Tuesday. A standard car just imported with only 40k miles.

It isn't as practical as the SVX (no fold-down seat, smaller boot) but a car I've wanted to own.

I'll miss the SVX - had some great times in it, especially the 3 meets that I have attended. I hope that you won't mind me continuing to frequent this site and maybe allow me to attend the meets as 'guest of honour' (I'll park the Skyline well away ) as I feel that I have made many new friends through the UK 'club'.

I have a few bits and pieces in the garage that I will sort out over the next week or so and post on here to see if they are of use to anyone, prior to e-baying them.

Happy motoring to all of you! See you around sometime, I hope.

Tony

Tony:
Sorry to hear she's gone. Was it a local buyer? Leamington used to have one of the highest concentration of SVX's anywhere, with three in a medium-sized town. Now I'm in France and yours is gone. The place won't be the same.
All the best with your new car - it won't be the same!

Hi Ian,

Hope all is going well with your move.

The SVX has gone to a trader near Watford - the nearest place I could find a good, low mileage, standard car. Been giving the SVX a bit of a play the last couple of days - specially round corners 'cos I know that the Skyline won't be as much fun there!

May see you around in the future sometime if you're ever back for a meet or visit.

Tony

Unhappy

Sorry to hear the news, Tony, but I know how you feel.

I presume it's a 2wd Skyline you bought, so take care in it.

Don't be a stranger, remember Andy keeps the posts going, even though he's in Forestry now.

Expect to see you at the JAE anyway. I'll be there in the Legacy GT if my Black Betty is not finished.

Joe

hmmmm, as one door closes another one slams shut !!

I wish you luck with your new toy Tony, and we'll keep our eyes open for any new members from the Luton area. Be interested to know what they gave you for it, but that's a rude question !! Probably more accurate to know what screen price they put on it.

Let us know what bits and bobs you've got, and what you want for them.

Phil.

Good luck with the new motor, Tony. Having jumped ship nearly a year ago, I know what you must be going through, but don't worry, there is a life after the SVX

Remember that you don't have to be a stranger here. I don't know what the Skyline forums are like, but you may have to get used to wearing your cap backwards

Thanks all.

I will definitely stay around on the site and would like to see some of you again at the JAE - I'm starting to save for the barbeque and drinks session already!

I'll do a comparison piece between the two cars when I've used it for a while. It was a bit scary when I tried the first one in the damp and it spun the wheels even as an auto! Oo-eerrrr.........

I'll put the spares list up in a week or so - a bit busy at the moment arranging finance, insurance and going back to work!

Anyone got a peaked hat suitable for a 50 year old? Apart from a 'ratter'!

Question

What year model did you buy Tony?
[Please, please don't say it's a P, A or Z reg, means nothing over here ]

Is it the 2500 engine? if so, probably the 33 model, maybe 34 if later.

My suppliers in Japan have a GTR 32 model at reasonable money, but it is the earlier and smaller 32 model, probably 91 or 92, can't remember. These are much closer in performance to Arthur's A610.

Talking of quick cars...
Did anyone see the Arial Atom on Top Gear ?
It has a Honda Civic type R, supercharged to 400BHP and the body weighs only 500Kg.

Didn't see it Arthur, but sounds like it has a healthy power-to-weight ratio.

Think maybe it would have a traction problem?

I cant see the 400BHP version, I am sure that is what Clarkson said the supercharger lifted it to.

I like the quote "if it doesn't need it, it hasn't got it"
