There's not much I miss about a FWD car, but I do love hitting a huge cloverleaf ramp on a wet day, turning the steering wheel to lock, and steering with throttle only. The real challenge is at the end of the ramp when you have to transition to having traction again but your steering wheel is all the way over. The smoothest transition is to simply lock up all four and flip the wheel to straight, but that's the easy way, not to mention ugly.

Obviously the sticking point here is one's definition of the term spirited driving. For example, I don't always have to hear the tires complaining to enjoy driving the winding mountain roads around here, and I couldn't care less if whoever's beside me at a traffic light feels the need to stomp the gas in order to beat me to the next light. But hey, I realize that's a minority view.

It's all relative. Tool around in a stock, timeworn Legacy for a few years and an SVX will feel like a rocketship.

I have had just about enough of this Spirited driving pity story by Boondock. This is my thread and I dont' appreciate people hijacking my thread because theirs was shut down. Just because I posted a thread within the bounds of the RULES doesn't give anyone the right to attack mods on my thread. Anymore hijacking of this thread or any thread started by me, with the exception of the "Let's have some fun" thread will be immediately deleted by me or the mods. Comprende?

It isn't a hijack. My story was almost identical in terms of 'risk to the general public', yet mine was locked and yours was not. I'm just disagreeing with the powers that be.

Then start your own thread about it and don't use other users threads. The threads weren't similar at all with the exception that they both involved the SVX.

My thread was about a topic that had issues with the handling and misinterpretation/misinformation about a particular driving condition. Yours involved a car chase in a spirited manner. Though you clearly weren't racing, illegal action were performed with knowledge in mind. Not to sound like an ass, but your thread contained illegal actions and mine did not.

Yes, in both instances, threat to other drivers well being and safety were an issue, but other than that, two completely different situations.

Hope this clarifies everything.

Keith

This reminds me of when I was showing my Fellow Overnight stock workers how well the SVX corners with the AWD.
This was in the Albertson's Parking lot, and there cars were up
by the front door, so the lot was all to myself.

I started going in circles, and just acceled, making that beautifull deep "ERRRK" as i go round and round, the Second I hit the brake, Insta-Rear Slide, so I took advantage of this, counter steered as I gave it gas, and they were in awe with a 130ft drift

now THAT was an awsome feeling. I Have never truly Drifted a car
(correctly that is) and after doing it... its something I want to do more! There is this old Runway where alot of people fly RC Planes... but when there not out there, its nice, open, and safe!

Next time after a rain, and after i get things fixed on my svx...
I will defantly be taking the car out there, and seening exactly how well I can "control" my drifts in it, via Countersteer and
accell.

I was suprized that I couldnt get the rear end to come out just by accell alone, which is what i was trying to do, but the second i hit the brake, thats when that rear end just said "ok... FUN TIME!"
LOL

(NOTE: the Overnight Albertson's Manager was one of the people
watching me, so I had "legal" right to use there parking lot ... thats for you BoondockSVX )

Your disgreement is duly noted, but won't get your thread unlocked. Let it go and move on already Jim
