there was someone got out of his svx via the trunk when his both doors had problem.
maybe you can get into your trunk thru your backseat to check if your trunk release lever is at up or down position by using a torch light? if it's at up position, maybe your problem can be solved....

It seems the lock switch behind the back seat can be moved rather easily and inconspicuously. This was a major problem for me because in order to unlock it I have to remove my sub box (not easy) then remove the stereo amp rack that blocks the access hole to the trunk.
I solved this problem by cutting a piece of foam to wedge into the hole for the lock switch. Hasn't been a problem since.

I've seen this before. I bet they used the wrong key blank. Subaru uses two different types of key codes: one is four digits, the other is five. Each one has its own unique blank. Dave |

And speaking of key blanks, can SVX keys be cut on STI blanks? Are all STI blanks blue? Thanks for the information Dave. But in my case, one of the five first-group keys did [barely] turn and start the car, while four failed. All the keys from the second dealer worked perfectly.

No, the blanks are quite different...but that doesn't stop people from using the wrong one No, the SVX uses a four digit code, the STI uses a five digit code......so they use different blanks. No, only the "fancy" STI blanks are blue. You can get a plain metal blank if you want. Dave |
