<<'new randy', welcome, welcome to the network!! this is your first post. 'old randy' said the right thing. just enjoy and have fun with it, but be prepared! before i bought mine, i knew about the tranny problems..etc. i knew this machine is expensive to drive even if i can afford... i also knew i like stick shift more, but still, i got my svx. i knew about the problems but i still wanted the car....i tried my best to look for one which apparently had the problems corrected. that's the best i could do. so hope to just enjoy the car more.... in fact, i also met some pple. they didn't know about the tranny probs and have been driving the svxes for yrs is still good. ignorance is a bliss, right?>>

Thanks for the "welcome". I had wanted one of these since they were introduced. I had an uninsured driver take out my Sebring Coupe so I decided if I was going to go thru this negative experience I'd get a positive out of it. The SVX!! I knew alot mechanically about this car but not some of the "foibles" <sp>. Not until I began to search the web and found these clubs. I may have to call one of you and ask for a ride to work should the tranny quit.

My best and Happy New Year.

I like the car, John. Perhaps this is the new 2004 SVX electro-diesel hybrid I heard about.

Randy, just call me. I'll be glad to swing by FL on my way from Owensboro, KY to Evansville, IN. It's only slightly out of my way.

Randyi,

Why that is very gracious of you. (It's never hard to get people to come to Florida in Dec-Jan.

I usually like to get in by oh, say, 06:30 - 07:00. If it's ok, I guess you should leave about NOW or so...

Actually don't need you yet. Believe me, if the tranny goes YOU"LL ALL KNOW!!!

Randyii (Preparing to weep)

PS. Where should I go to post a legit tranny question?

Try one of the other main forums. Either "Tech Q & A" or "Chris's SVX shop" Depending on what exactly you're looking for. The search function on the network is great too. If you type in tranny, you may get about 1000 posts, though.

I've asked every dealer and they were clueless. I sent email to SOA. They said it means nothing. Same as "XT", "GL", etc. I even sent email to ItalDesign years ago. They said that Subaru never told them it meant anything. Those were always the letters used when talking about the car (both in concept and reality). I think it sounds cool. Say it with me; "SVX". I knew you could.
