Just got pulled over. Funny!

So i was on my way to pick up my g/f to go to lunch, and i passed a cop sittin in a parking lot doing paperwork. As I pass, i look over at him to see if it was one of the cops i know, and he looks back. He then proceeds to flip on his lights and pull me over. (i KNOW i was not speeding...if anything I was under the limit, it was snowing)
Now im freaking out, because i'm driving on a ticket, and go to court in 6 days. He walks up to my car and this is what he said:

"Dont worry, you're not in trouble. I just wanted to ask you about your car. I've seen a few of these around, and I have been looking for one for my son."

I let out the biggest relief sigh of my life, and we sat there for 5mins talking about the SVX. I told him to go to the website on my sticker, but i have the ones that say www.svxworldnetwork.org on them, so i dont know if he'll find this site. (BTW, any news on the world network happenings?)

Just a funny I thought I'd share.

heheh.. i don't think i've ever been pulled over for the express reason that the cop liked my car (imho that's a complete waste of taxpayer money.. we pay the police to ensure safety, not so that they can use their gas-guzzling v8's to check out cool cars), but i got off a ticket because the cop was an aspiring ricer and wanted to know what kind of "mods" i'd done to my car..

Bah, like you've never taken a moment of your time on the clock to do something personal.

In my humble opinion, this goes to show that cops are just regular people, too, and not the monsters some make them out to be.

Hee hee. That's pretty good. Not sure if it tops the cop who pulled me over a few weeks ago in the XT6 for get this "A Monoblade". I was quite confused until he corrected himself and called it a wiper blade. I sent a letter to the stinking police department regarding it asking them if they are making a habit of pulling over other vehicles that came/come with monoblades as well such as Mercedes and BMWs or if they're just focusing their attention on cars that might have a kid driving it.

Where did you get pulled over. Just so I know what to aspect when i am out and about.

I have only have been pulled over a bunch of times. One was a speeding ticket, the others where for not having a front plate.

benebob, PA inspection code (Title 67) states any car that came equiped with two wipers, must have two wipers, ie no "cool" monoblade conversions. If it came with one, ok, if two, must have two. Just my view on it.

When I was bringing my first SVX home from OK, I passed a patrol car sitting along side of the road. I was under the speed limit, and when I got down the road about 1/2 mile, I passed another going in the opposite direction. When I passed him, he turned on his lights and whipped around. I thought oh boy, now what have I done? I was in New Mexico and didn't know if something else was wrong. He came up to the car and said "What the heck kind of car is this anyway?". I then saw the other car with lights on coming from where I saw it. He got out and wanted to talk about the car too. He had been talking to the other guy before he pulled me over. They learned a lot about the SVX that day. I was very happy that is all they wanted.

That's just it. All XTs came with single wipers. To be honest it works better than any of my other subie wipers too. To me it is simply a piss poor excuse to pull someone over for esp when the cop obviously hasn't been educated as to the vehicles that came with such a wiper. So I'm also guessing that by title 67 any car that didn't come with wiper blades doesn't need to have any .

It was on Douglas inbetween Thomas rd and oakton rd, in Arlington Heights. (by the sledding hill, and the evangelical free church.)

One time I got pulled over and I could of sworn that when the guy proceeded to tell me that I have been a little over the speed limit he was checking out the driver side of my car up and down. Maybe Im making a mistake but Im pretty damn sure he was.

We have the same car - I bet he had seen her before and thought it was her driving (nightime) and figured he'd ask her out.
