Question 5spd swap, some help?

I have a couple questions about the 5spd swap I am doing, mainly measurments. So far i have the auto out, and was comparing it to the 5spd manule i have (from a 90 legacy wagon non turbo), does the shifting lenkage need to be lenghened, i am going to measure it but just wondering if some did the swap with this trannie. How hard is to exchnage the guts of the non lsd diff to the lsd diff? I can have some one do it but if its not to hard I should be able to manage it, just dont have any experisance with a diff. Did any one do the swap with a 90 legacy pedal assembley? What needed to be changed, if any thing? THANKS

I lengthened the shifter linkages 3 inches, the front part of the driveshaft 2.5" I had a 2002 Legacy, so those measurements may not work for you.

I did not touch the diff, I had that done by a professional.

The pedals are a pain, I cut apart the Legacy pedal assembly and welded it to the SVX pedal assembly so it would retain the same pedal height. Of course that means I had to lengthen the clutch master cylinder rod and the mounting bolts.

Good Luck.

Hopefully the pedal assembley will be alot more like the svx one since it came off a 1gen legacy.

What weight oil are you using?

I haven't got to the point of needing to fill the fluids yet. The rear diff is still out and the car is still up on jackstands
