Nope, But I've done it in Neutral... It's a stomach wrenching feeling to watch the tach needle enter the red zone on the WRONG side on its way down...

I didn't wreck the motor but I don't think I did so well in the race either.

Last weekend I changed the oil and rotated the tires on both the SVX and Justy. I couldn't remember what the lug nuts on the SVX were supposed to be torqued to (and all my manuals are still packed), so I called Doug Mohr. While talking to him, I look at the Justy (which I had worked on first) and realize that I never tightened ANY of the lug nuts AT ALL.

Better yet, this weekend I found my manual inside the SVX's trunk.

Better still, I was doing the same work on my wife's Legacy this weekend. I put the car on the ground and put all the hubcaps on. Then I turned around to put the rubber mallet in my toolbox and saw my torque wrench. It was only THEN that I realized I hadn't tightened THOSE lugnuts, either.

Even better, while typing this post I realized that I didn't set my torque wrench back to zero.

<sigh> So I guess it'll probably have to be recalibrated.

i finally thought of one.

i was doin about 40 on my old honda cm400 (stolen) coming to a stoplight. i was short on the reaction time and saw some people crossing the crosswalk so i hit the brakes hard.
hit some pebbles and rocks. slid right into the intersection.
i walked it back into the lane and tried to start it. no go.
i took it to the sidewalk and eventually i found that it was still in first. duh. its a rare automatic and wont start in gear.
werd.
also those people looked at me like im an idiot cuz i slid right in front of them.

the part that makes me stupid is i hit 80 with about 200 ft of road left to brake and ended up looking like a total jackass to about a hundred people.
