OT but quite scary

My father sent this picture to me from my hometown. He said, "Yep..I guess you CAN flip an $80,000 Viper." The driver died, obviously.

Good eyes

<<notice there's no liscence plate. He probably JUST bought it, and didn't really know how to drive it>>

Good point. I didn't even notice. I'll see if I can get more info from my dad about this one.

Isn't there 'supposed' to be a roll bar or something?

Well there is a stupid design flaw if I ever saw one. How dumb was Dodge with that. I wonder how many lawsuits they have had...

Actually now that I think about it, your head doesn't stick out, because that is what the removable top attatches to. however, if ya roll the damn thing, even with a seatbelt on, odds on the windshield is not going to support the weight, and needless to say, neither is your noggin'

There is no roll cage but there should be a roll bar or a safety bar behind his seat -- just like the conv. audi TTs or vetts. I have a feeling that licence plates are taken off by the local police dept since the police still need the family to ID dead man.

They did say that the guy was still alive after the accident but died enroute. . .

And finally, if the timing is right and pot holes are big enough, you can flip anything over or break your car in half.

My guess - both.

The article said he hit a guardrail. Sometimes they have the leading edge of those things buried in the ground. I always wondered how smart that was. It's like an invitation for unplanned daredevil stunts. Is this evidence?
