Code 24
I just checked my codes b/c of an occasional stall at idle and i pulled a code of 24 which comes up as follows:
24 By-pass air control solenoid valve By-pass air control solenoid valve inoperative. (Abnormal signal in monitor circuit.) Could this be my cause of intermittent stall at idle only???and what can i do to replace this??? I'm not near my manual right now so i can't look at it and see where thiis thing is at to try and fix/sccrew with it...Thanks for any and all advice -derek |

Yes it is most a likely it and it'sa not a common problem. This allows air to by pass the throttle plate in the throttle body, when at idle. It is a control valve that uses a solenoid to control the position of the valve. It bolts to the throttle body and has a hose from the intake pipe connected to it. I think its part #2 here.

As you report the problem as intermittent a faulty connection is likely. You are not dealing with a ÒsensorÓ but rather an electrically operated twin solenoid valve which has three connections i.e. negative, + on, + off.
