Simple Alarm Question

Hi,

The SVX we have at work has a REALLY touchy alarm in it(I think it must be stock), and even light traffic driving by will set this thing off many times a day - it's so annoying. And when I get in the car and put the key in the ignition, not even turning it on, just in the "on" position, everything inside the car blinks(clock, dash, etc) and there's a "clicking" sound accompanying that. What is that? How do I stop it? If I disarm the alarm, will the blinking and clicking stop? If so, how do I disarm that damn alarm? I thought I read that there's a security button or something inside, that you can push to disarm it? Because I think the remote's fukked. Thanks in advance for any quick tips you could give me.

I know there's a sensitivity screw somewhere on the alarm module (located above the liner in the trunk ('94+) ).

Wouldnt it be cool if people had a sensitivity screw? I know some girls who would kill for that.

And what about hyper-sensitive people...that would work fro them. Like...if you didnt want your gf/wife to get mad because you went to a strip club.
Hehe, the possibilities of the imagination.

I'm pretty sure it is ya. What does the factory remote look like? I think this remote is all black, and has a I button, and a II button and that's it, if that helps. And the alarm is really annoying with the lights and horn and noises. Lol, I doubt any of that info helps, that could be any alarm I guess, I'll have to check tomorrow. If it is infact factory, is there really some button I can disarm it with from inside the car? I thought I read that there's a "security" light on the dash where you can simply turn it on and off fairly easily with a button on the dash/console or something? Oh well, not a big deal, just a little annoying when somebody comes in to talk to you and a car drives by and sets it off. Plus I'd like to know for the future, if I buy this car. It's a 94 too, if that helps. Thanks.

Ya, It must not be stock then, because I don't think it's either of those. For some reason "python" is ringing a bell. I don't know though, we have so many different alarms on cars there, I can't remember what has what. Whatever, I'll check tomorrow then. Thanks for the help guys.

Greg,
Check out the fobs on this site:

http://www.caraudio-caralarms.com/accessories.html

I'm sure that, if your remote fob looks the same, then the operation to adjust sensitivity would be similar. Or, if you can find the module, match up the model number and get the user's manual from Python.

Meanwhile here's contact info from their FAQ if you need it.

I have a question or comment, how can I contact you?

My key fob thing is a GM it came with the car when I bought it. Don't know why, I heard the stock alarms were no good. I had a bad problem with the alarm on my 98 Outback Limited so I just took out the speaker for it altogether so it would make noise. It always went off in the middle of the night for no reason, it drove me and the neighbors nuts.
