Unhappy Uh-oh! Power window

When I got home from work tonight, there was a note on my computer: "Window on drivers door won't work. Makes noise but won't move." I went out to the SVX and, by golly, her note pretty much describes the problem to a 'T'.

Hitting the switch in either direction, one hears something between a 'click' and a 'clunk', but not a 'humm' or a 'whirr'. The window won't budge.

At least it stuck in the up position.

Anyone had this problem yet?

Steve

Ah, you've been struck by the "little plastic piece breaking" bug. Do a search on the Yahoo archive. There was a rash of this about a year ago. Also, you might try PM'ing SVXjazz, to see how he conquered the problem. You can't buy the plastic piece by itself, they want you to buy a whole regulator (about 200 bucks). I think SVXjazz had a fix.

Thanks RW

I'll see if the Jazzman can help.

I just had the same exact thing happen. And I said the exact same thing. Please let me know if you hear anything from Jazz. I'm hoping it's a simple fix as well.

Window Regulator

I bought a new window regulator last year. $99.95 list price (What I paid). You can get it for about $70 something from Subaruparts.com. If you are very saavy you can install it yourself. It cost me over $100 in labor for the dealer to put it on.

There were instructions on how to rig the regulator yourself to work. You can try that.

Good luck!

Jeff
