Picture Perfect

At 11:15, I got a call to tell me that my car was ready. At 11:30 (after topping up the rental), I was there!

She looks perfect! They have aligned the passenger's side door (a problem since I've had the car), they went around and touched up small nicks and a chip on the driver's side rear wheel arch -- even hung a nice bottle of touch-up paint, complete with brush on the turn signal stalk. The did not replace the front left turn signal assembly as originally stated, but, there was nothing wrong with it to begin with. THey did replace the wheel arch protector as asked, at no charge to me. Life is good again! I was beginning to think that the Neon was WAAAAAY too much car for me anyhow.

I would kill someone if they gave me a Neon as a rental-car. By Jove, I think I've reached the point where the only car I will drive is a Subaru - I even passed up the chance to drive my mom's Benz for two weeks simply because my Legacy is more fun

Praise be!

Good thing this site can't transmit pictures or you would be treated to me dancing a jig in your honor....(got to be careful...the last time I did this, it rained!) Don

A) It beat the hell out of the Chevy Metros I'd had before.

B) Ye cain't rent subyroo's 'round h'yar.

C) Anything anyone could rent me (other than an SVX) would pale in comparison.

Thanks everyone for your expressions of joy. I will add them to my own when I drive home in the SVX for the first time in FIVE BLOODY DAYS!

Glad U Got 'er Back

Randy, glad to hear you've got your car back. Man, I thought they had it for a long time. Five days is pretty reasonable, especially for the pearl. Did they have any problem matching the color? That is the main problem I'm running into when I go to shops for estimates. You may not have had that issue crop up because, as some of us noted at VT, your car appeared to have been repainted before.

The other problem I have is that the bottom half of my car is faded from sun exposure, so really, the whole bottom half needs to be repainted... "I owe, I owe, it's off to work I go..."

No problem at all matching. Yes, it's a different pearl (more bright white than the original golden pearl). I even had our art director check it out (who used to airbrush murals on vans -- has a keen eye for color and light). He said they were dead on. Oh what a happy day.
